Shadow-economic participants
Zombies
The highest-functioning ghosts: mind without citizenship. They keep their skills, their networks, and a foothold in the mesh-markets that run without the chain. The Ledger's detective-noir: competence denied the infrastructure that would amplify it.
Scavengers · "Cannibals"
Ghouls
They produce nothing; they extract residual value from the waste-streams of the city above: expired hardware, dead credentials, the forgotten record. The witnesses of the under-city, who see what the counted discard.
Owned property
Ghasts
Bound by debt and sponsorship into ownership-without-ownership: seven-year contracts that become twenty, balances inherited by children. The system forbids slavery and builds this instead. The taxonomy's gravest moral weight.
Unrestored wealth
Vampires
The wealthy barred forever from re-entry: crimes, purges, catastrophic failures whose money outlived their status. They build parallel empires in the shadow, and their open power is, by law, invisible: which is to say unaccountable.
The invisible · the uncounted
Wraiths
The truly erased: tracked by no system at all. Every other class is noticed by someone; the Wraith is noticed by none, which is the whole of their classification. They are the conscience of the world: every other ghost, by existing, validates the system. The Wraith's existence indicts it.
